Gebe opens application process for seniors’ relief program

GREAT BAY – Utilities Company Gebe has opened the application process for seniors’ relief. Under certain conditions, citizens aged 62 and older qualify for a fixed monthly deduction from their electricity bill.

Citizens must legally reside on the Dutch side, have a Gebe-contract in their name and their average electricity consumption over the past year should not exceed 150 Kilowatt hours per month. If the contract is in the name of a deceased client, the widow or widower qualifies after submitting proof of marriage. Clients must also be in good standing order with Gebe for the past five years.

Application forms can be picked up at Gebe’s main office in Philipsburg and at the customer care department in Simpson bay. Completed application forms have to be submitted to the main office in Philipsburg.

The relief program will run for six months. After it ends, eligible seniors have to apply again.
